The Department of Agriculture of Denpasar City, in collaboration with Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), conducted a collaboration on the innovation of the “PreciRice” 2023 demo plot in Subak Umadesa, East Denpasar District (14/12). The implementation test of “PreciRice”  serves as a performance demonstration of a fertilizer recommendation system based on multispectral camera technology developed by Pupuk Indonesia in four districts in Denpasar, as stated by Maria Rini Setia, Senior Officer of Technology Research at Pupuk Indonesia.

The advantages of nutrient detection technology using drones include reasonably good estimation accuracy, documented distribution of variations, relevance for large areas, and the ability to cover low accessibility compared to traditional paddy field soil testing devices.

The goal of implementing the “PreciRice” activity is to obtain precise fertilizer recommendations to reduce production costs and achieve sustainable agriculture. A.A Gde Brahmasta, MMA, the Head of the Department of Agriculture of Denpasar City, welcomes the “PreciRice”  demo plot innovation in collaboration with Pupuk Indonesia, anticipating that future innovations in other fertilizer products can be continued, impacting agricultural development in Denpasar.

“PreciRice” is expected to boost the productivity of rice crops in Denpasar City by approximately 21%. This is attributed to farmers being able to fertilize their crops according to recommendations tailored to the needs of the plants. (Innovation Team The Department of Agriculture of Denpasar City)
